her true passion – art.
Sonia has participated in numerous art exhibitions and
competitions in the United States and Colombia. Her
paintings are found in numerous private and corporate
collections, both nationally and internationally. In
September, she will exhibit her works at the Columbian
Consulate General in New York City.
ARTIST’S
STATEMENT:
"Inspired by love, passion, past and possible future
experiences my art explores feelings in an unreal space
where a rich palette of color envelop the different
shapes that come from my mind in a free way framed
within a sophisticated composition. Through paint, I
express myself and communicate with my public in an
intimate circle. I felt it in a moment of my life and …
you felt the same at some point in your life. It is a
silent, symbolic and colorful nexus between us. What
looks real is not necessary real. Interpretation is not
defined …Expression of feelings graphically, is my
objective as a painter."

"The
LATIN FUSION II exhibit is one way to highlight our
diverse and distinct "Latino" communities in Los
Angeles. This show will exhibit work from Argentina,
Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico," says
Gallery Director Daniel Coronado DeBevoise. "It's
important to stress that each Latino culture has its own
customs and identity and this show is a way to highlight
and unify each of them through art."
