Association of Arts at UNESCO. Since 1996 Alexander
resides in Los Angeles, California. He continues to
create vigorously and actively displays his paintings at
personal and group exhibitions.
I paint forms and shapes to convey energy and spiritual
condition. The colors and rhythms become the theme. The
images are put together in a dreamlike sequence to
reinforce the realty of metaphysical world. Forces of
nature and mysterious inner life of mankind are themes
that have been constant in my work. My paintings are
inspired from the human life in conjunction with
landscape of nature's abstract color-forms. With
association of color and shapes, I strive to communicate
my feelings and convey inner-personal emotions.

Harout Papouchin
Harout
was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1927. As a young boy,
Harout was very active in sports at school and always
had interests in art, history and literature. Outside
school, he loved the nature and loved taking trips to
various parts of Lebanon, to enjoy the nature. Once he
finished school, he started working at Khanjian
Advertising Agency. It was at this early stage in his
life when he started developing his love for artwork and
photography. He designed many commercials for
advertising purposes. As a hobby, he took many pictures,
especially of nature and sites of interest and often
when he took his films for development, he was offered
money for his films by printing companies and his
friends.
In 1947, Harout moved to Yerevan, Armenia with his
family. His first job was at a movie studio, where he
designed cartoons. At the same time, he attended
university to continue his education. Few months later,
the movie studio was closed and for economic reasons, he
started working in the chemical engineer field to
support his family. However, throughout the years, he
always kept his interest in photography and continued
his hobby of taking nature pictures as he traveled
through Armenia and many other parts of Soviet Union. He
often took pictures of his family and friends during
vacations or trips and at times, developed and printed
his own photos at home.
In 1980, Harout moved to United States with his family.
Once again, he continued working in the Chemical
Engineer field and settling in yet another new country
with a very busy life. Yet again, he continued his
interest in photography. During his travels throughout
US and other parts of the world, Harout continued taking
many beautiful and unusual pictures of nature and
significant and not so significant sites. He acquired
new cameras, learned how to use the computer and
Photoshop, got a printer and started enhancing his
pictures even more and enlarging and printing them
himself. He never stopped searched for the next best
picture, for the best possible setting, for the best
possible angle and for the best lighting.
Although he had many, many beautiful pictures that he
took in the past 25 years in US, Harout yearned to see
the sites in Armenia one more time and to take pictures
he could share with American Armenians who had never had
the opportunity to see their motherland. He went to
Armenia in 2006 and spent a couple of weeks to take
pictures of all the sites close to his heart,
representing Armenian history, Armenian legends and
Armenian culture.
Harout continues his love for photography and is always
in search of his next best shot.
