The LAYERS exhibit will showcase the works of five San Fernando Valley Women Artists who have painted together for more than 10 years: Susanne Belcher, (Tarzana), Joan Foster (Northridge), Darlene Mellein (Van Nuys), Harriett Lahana and Nicki Newfield (Sherman Oaks). This show not only celebrates their differences but honors their friendships.

Darlene Mellein describes their exhibit as “honoring our differences and celebrating the things we share, mainly our friendship, a history of creating art together, and the love of pushing the limits in our work with a sense of joy.”

Strong bonds, contagious laughter, the courage to give, the willingness to share, the acceptance of change, layers that must be shed, growth that must be recognized and the freeing of the creative mind to move forward into more of their own “being” is the challenge these talented women artists have embraced together. Their distinctly different styles and approaches are linked not only by their friendship but also by the complexity and honesty found in the work of each artist. LAYERS go far beyond the literal for this show.

Dr. Kotler, a pre-eminent patient advocate with over 28 years practice experience and the acclaimed "Voice of Experience” on E! Entertainment’s Dr. 90210, coaches patients through the entire consultation process. Don’t consult a cosmetic surgeon without this book!

Wednesday, June 28 from 6- 8PM, Dr. Kotler will give a lecture and sign copies of his book, "The Essential Cosmetic Surgery Companion."ALL proceeds will go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Also, 10% of all art sales proceeds will be donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. His daughter and one of our artists were diagnosed with Lymphoma and overcame the disease.
