Sandra  Sarmiento

 

 
 
Sandra Sarmiento was born in Bogota, Colombia; she grew up among art and performance. Her father, a retired classical violinist of the “Colombian Symphony Orchestra” and her mother a ballet dancer; inspired the beginning of this “Art Adventure”.

She started ballet at age 4 and theatre at age 15 becoming a professional choreographer. Simultaneously she started her painting career graduating in “Fine Arts” at the university “Jorge Tadeo Lozano” in Bogota.

In 1985 she joined specialized schools of art where she developed higher education in “Colonial Art”, “Airbrush Techniques”, “Graphic Design”, and “Photography” specializing as Muralist.

With her dancing and theatrical experience and the fact of being born in a tropical country, Sandra combines these elements to create her unique paintings with great sense of movement, color, feelings and body expressions.
