Daniel B. Quinones was born in
Puerto Rico and raised in
Houston, Texas. Growing up in a
family of seven and growing in
knowledge of street art, and
dance, his mind evolved an eye
opening experience in art
culture. He is always searching
for the rawest exposure to
uncover the truths in his
display of grimy creations in
all of his skills. He expresses
himself through painting,
graphic design, apparel design
and poetry. His passion lies
within pointing out the wrongs
displayed in society as a whole
through individual situations
ranging from racism to the
creation of birth.
His interest grows when he puts
himself into others positions,
as if he was looking out of
their eyes in their everyday
struggles. His thoughts are ever
moving, fleeting and soaring in
their own worlds. His essence of
capturing his thoughts is as if
he was catching a live animal
and harnessing it into artistic
submission.
“Watching Daniel in person
creating live art is quite an
interesting position. His fast
performance has you waiting and
wanting more.” -Melissa Leslie.
Face to face with the dark
members of Daniels creations you
get a dose of reality like a
slap to the face. Weather it be
about something you have done
you feel bad about or something
you greatly feel is wrong that
that you’ve heard of people
doing, his work is upfront and
as deep as the blackness in his
shadowy works. “Everybody paints
pretty; I’ll leave that up to
the other artists. I find beauty
in imperfection perceived by the
masses.”
Because he thinks so much, his
ideas are like reels of thoughts
that are never ending footage of
infinite space. Poetry is a
faster turn around of thought
than the creation of art that
allows him to capture more of
his mind’s voice.
Daniel as a graphic designer
shines light upon his artistic
avenue before the mechanical
devices. His knowledge of
computer programs and his bold
background of art make for a
dynamic design when creating in
the graphic arena.His graphics
are displayed through an array
of media, from t-shirts to
flyers to websites and more. “I
was amazed by the images I had
seen on his Myspace page of some
of his characters, I later found
that they were sketches he had
done and then brought them into
Photoshop to color. I was
impressed by his skills in both
areas.” Contact: Daniel B.
