Daniel Debevoise is the Curator of NoHo Gallery LA, a spacious and inspiring art gallery housed in an historical Art Deco building in the heart of the NoHo Arts District.

Daniel has experience working with curators in the New York City’s Museum network and private galleries in Italy and South America. He was born and raised in Colombia, Ecuador & Peru, the son of a U.S. Diplomat. Daniel then spent his formative years in Rome, Italy. You will see this international influence in his photographs.

After many years abroad, Daniel returned to the U.S.A. where he attended Columbia University, graduating in the field of the Arts. He then went to USC Graduate Film School concentrating on documentary filmmaking.

After his studies, Daniel went back to his roots, becoming a special features photojournalist for Vistazo, the Ecuadorian equivalent of Life Magazine, then returned to the U.S., becoming a staff photographer for the New York City’s Department of Cultural Affairs, photographing museum exhibits, openings & receptions for the media, featuring internationally renowned artists at major New York City museums.

Daniel then freelanced for the Associated Press, UPI & ANSA in Rome, Italy where he shot events such as museum exhibits, fashion shows, Roman antiquity, urban landscapes for special features on travel and tourism, Pope John Paul II and Vatican events. His work with the international news agencies caught the eye of D’Agostini di Novarra, the Italian equivalent of encyclopedia Britannica, where he became their commercial photographer.

Daniel has set up his U.S. studio in NoHo. He has photographed receptions, events and installations for El Portal Theatre, local festivals and has done several product shots, movie openings and CD covers. He was the official photographer for the NoHo Arts Festival 2004. He is also a Special Contributor to NoHoArtsDistrict.Com.
